Abigail's Moroccan Cuisine is a modestly sized restaurant tucked along Alameda’s waterfront, offering diners more than just a meal—it's a spot where the view of the San Francisco skyline quietly complements a genuine Moroccan dining experience. The interior carries subtle North African touches, creating a relaxed ambiance that fits well with the gentle bay breezes visible through the windows.

This restaurant is best suited for those looking to explore Moroccan flavors in a setting that balances casual comfort with a sense of place. The menu focuses on traditional dishes like chicken tajines seasoned with preserved lemons and olives, lamb shanks braised with caramelized onions and raisins, and vegetarian couscous options, all served with thoughtfully prepared sides like saffron rice and fresh salads. Many dishes come paired with freshly made Moroccan mint tea or a bright, house-made mint lemonade that punctuates the meal with a refreshing lift.

Visitors often remark on the careful layering of sweet and savory flavors—the interplay of spices and the freshness of ingredients stand out. The salad offerings, including the Moroccan salad with chicken or vegetarian options, are notable for their crisp, fresh components like roasted eggplant and hummus, providing a light counterbalance to the richer entrees.

The service here tends to be personable and attentive without feeling rushed, fitting for a dining experience where lingering over a meal to enjoy the view is part of the draw. Given the restaurant's smaller footprint, it’s ideal for intimate meals rather than large groups, and timing a visit for midday or early evening can reward guests with both a quieter table and good light to take in the waterfront scenery.

Abigail’s feels grounded in the local context—its location along Ballena Boulevard makes it a convenient stop for both locals who appreciate authentic Moroccan flavors and visitors exploring Alameda’s diverse culinary landscape. Those who lean toward varied, flavorful Mediterranean-inspired plates will find the slightly higher price point balanced by portion sizes and the quality of preparation.

Overall, Abigail's Moroccan Cuisine offers an experience that merges cultural authenticity with a distinctly local setting, inviting guests to slow down, savor complex tastes, and watch the bay unfold just outside the window.

Abigail is an amazing hidden gem in Alameda. With a water view of San Francisco, Moroccan interior design and homemade food i can't say enough good things about it. My favorite is the Moroccan salad with chicken. It is an incredible value for the price and includes salad, roasted eggplant, hummus, roasted red bell pepper, and crunchy chicken pieces and everything freshly prepared. I often bring friends and all of them were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food, the hospitality and the view. This is what a small family run business can accomplish. We are so lucky to have you!

A small restaurant but cute. Especially the waitress was so sweet! I think her name is Elizabell (something like that) . Great service! Also the bay scene was breaking taking, Worth to make a trip

$25 per person for a dish + lemonade per person, everything tasted great. Sweet and salty flavors. Salad was fresh, rice was sweet/salty, meat was savory, onion sauce was sweet. Id come back, albeit on the higher cost side.

Family establishment that sits next to the water with an incredible view of the SF skyline. The chicken plate with rice/salad was highly flavorful and the sweet/spiced sauce was a refresh to the palate. Service was friendly and prompt. Highly recommend. Give them a try!

My friend got me to this restaurant. Their food was very very tasty. We had ordered meal which comes with salad cookie and tea with the dish which you order. We ordered chicken shank, lamb shank and veggies with grilled egg plant with morrocan rice. The rice was beautifully cooked had wonderful flavor and was very light. Their cookie and mint tea was a best combination to have at the end of the meal. Must try out place.

Very peaceful atmosphere with a nice balance of food and selection. The view alone would cost you a $50 meal but the meals prices averages around $15 for each person, can be cheaper depending on what you get. Not a lot of people Saturday afternoon, will be coming back.

I wasn’t too sure what to expect when I walked in. It was very quiet and didn’t get much of a greeting from the staff up front. But we tried the chicken plate, eggplant salad, hummus and lentil soup. Wow! The food tasted so authentic and absolutely delicious! The onion sauce went well with the grilled chicken and rice. The eggplant salad had beets, and a taste of other side dishes with it and cooked very well. The hummus was one of the best I’ve ever had. Definitely a hidden gem in alameda!

The flavors. It was my first time going to this restaurant. I wanted to try some Moroccan food and the flavors did not disappoint. The view from the restaurant is great. I can’t wait to go back with other friends. Definitely a mom and pop vibe. Staff was friendly and clarified any questions we had on menu.
